Even though, the big ‘Ol BC decided against last Saturdays gig on the grounds of ‘too much damn hassle’ we’d like to give a big friendly dog-like lick to Jacuzzi Junta and their lovely weird Art night up at Tactile Bosch studios. Although the DJ’s choice of Madonna and Justin Timberlake went past the point of irony and fell headlong into the pit of ‘What the fuck is that shit’, a lovely time was had by all…
And now, a rant….
With so much skulduggery, rapscallion behaviour and downright two-faced double dealing going on in this big ‘ol world of ours, I thought that today I would, like an angelic waiter, bring you a great big bowl of steaming love….Well that’s what I was gonna do until my great big brown peeper fell upon the hilarious story of the boss of Def Jam records and the family of James Brown joining forces to stop the use of’ foul language’ and misogyny in the lyrics of today’s youthful Hippity-Hop rappers.
A very admirable thought, after all as James Browns daughter said ‘How did we get from Sing It Loud I’m Black and I’m proud to here?’….. Well you could start by asking the boss of Def Jam records who has made an eye watering amount of money for at least 20 years by using the very same language in his releases that he’s now trying to censor. Or you could ask James Brown, at least he was an up-standing pillar of moral virtue, and certainly not a gun-totting, bitch-slapping , drug snuffling crazy-ass bastard?
Whilst not being a massive advocate of rap or the kind of misogynistic / racist bollox that passes for ‘art’, I find this kind of censorship as pretty fucking outrageous - if Mr Def Jam person wants to do something constructive, why not give all the cash he’s made, to the communities that he feels his music has blighted? Hip-hopcrisy anyone? (Fair enough, shit gag, but you think of a better way to round off a rant…..)
Ah fuck it, lets move on to this from the BBC new Website……
Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton is backing an online petition seeking a pardon of her 45-day prison sentence because she enlivens "mundane" lives…..
Urge to kill….rising…rising….
