And welcome back! My PC is finally fixed so here goes with some better late than never style blogging ....
As Mooseglove and The Hat are hunkered in the bunker at BC Towers, whilst Bert traverses the globe with his Good Lady Selma, today’s piece of bilious nonsense centres on The Brit Awards. Now this isn’t something that I’d usually watch, or comment on, but one thing caught my eye and wouldn’t let it go….In a salacious bit of old-woman style gossip-mongering I have to ask ‘Does anyone know what the fuck happened to Joss Stone?’ Didn’t she used to be a rather attractive, slightly sophisticated MOR jazz-type singer with a habit of badly covering White Stripes songs?
Well, no more as she seems to have turned into some trans-Atlantic bubble-perm hooker who can’t stop doing that irritating ‘burst into song half way through a sentence’ thing, whilst also doing that ‘If I wave my hand up and down whilst closing my eyes and singing, people will be somehow convinced that I have soul’ thing.
Now, the wavy hand thing can be seen as acceptable only because it seems to have become the norm among thick-as-shit contestants on X Factor but the whole ‘burst into song in the middle of a sentence’ thing cannot be excused. Personally I blame Lulu and her knack of being able to pretend she’s still just a girl from Scotland before blaring out that ‘weeeeeeeeelllllllll’ bit from Shout in every single TV interview since her heyday in the late 18th Century.
If you missed The Brits then you would have also missed Joss Stone proclaiming that “ Robbie Williams is an inspiration” - If that’s not the most misguided thing I’ve ever heard then Gawd Knows what is…Speaking of over-hyped End of Pier Entertainers, It’s got to be kind of embarrassing, confessing to having to go into rehab for an addiction that consists of fags, pro-plus and red-bull – As a recovering ‘stuff they sell in a newsagent’ junkie, he’ll never be able to go into WH Smith’s again. Where will he buy his DeLongisti part works from now?
I’m sure there’s more important things going on in the World that deserve the attention bestowed upon the subjects here, things such as the upcoming SUMMER OFFENSIVE Tour, or BC’s first London Venue at The Millers, London Bridge on April 21st, but y’know what? I can’t be arsed to think about them.
